On his debut album, Wizard Hello, comedian Alex Koll immediately pulls the audience into his mystical world, presenting himself as a wizard (of course) and describing the ins-and-outs of “wizard comedy,” which apparently involves telling jokes to magical crystals. From there, Koll takes us on a tour of the most surreal nooks of his imagination, spinning yarns about what Prince’s ostensibly dream-driven “1999? should have described had he actually been dreaming as he wrote it (a fight with giant lobsters and chocolate shark hands, for starters), or what Sasquatch “heavy on the sass” might sound like (“Yeti or not, here I coooome!”). 1. From the author of Hello Lesbian! comes another comedy called Hello Fabulous! The Flamingo, the biggest openly gay event in the world, decides to move from its usual destination of Las Vegas to the lesser-known city of Moline, Illinois. The event features gay musical acts, clinics, and novelties, and is coming to Moline for the first time due to tax breaks and the fact that the mayor is the uncle of the one and only fabulous host, Spencer Gayman. Randy Straight, a boring hetero, is continually mistaken for Gayman. This mistake begins to snowball, with the media believing that Gayman has hit the town well before the scheduled event to perhaps scout out restaurants, tour, shop, or all of the above. Straight then sees his life go from "straight and boring" to "gay and fab-you-luss" overnight. He begins to receive VIP treatment in the form of restaurant, hotel, and clothing comps. Not to mention the occasional hetero woman willing to turn Gayman straight. Straight's super hetero friends, Peter Christman and Jack Dudemeister, begin to enjoy the perks of being in a celebrity entourage. They encourage Straight to play the part - 100 percent. That is until Gayman comes to town for real after hearing that his good, gay name has been tarnished by being seen in places like K-Mart. "Oh no he dih'nt!" Hello Fabulous! is a hilarious story about mistaken identity that results in a climax that determines the real fabulous one. Oh, and there's a giant flamingo, too! 1. Language: English. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore were two of the brightest stars ever to light up the world of comedy. They set standards that will probably never be surpassed. Cambridge graduates who met in Beyond the Fringe, their chemistry produced some of the funniest, most inventive and downright brilliant comedy ever recorded. They came to wider fame with the TV series Not Only… But Also. The writing and performances were superb. The show had a variety of sketches, most memorably the so called ‘Dagenham dialogues’, in which, dressed in flat caps and shabby raincoats, in a variety of settings - a pub, an art gallery, a doctors surgery - they spouted absolutly hilarious nonsense. Pete played the all knowing bore, while Dud played the more subservient but equally opinionated mate, all the while trying not to corpse at Cook’s frequent ad libs. Volume 1 contains some absolute gems: 1. Art Gallery 2. Lengths 3. Six of the Best 4. Mrs Wooley’s Curse 5. The Music Teacher 6. Aversion Therapy 7. Hello 8. Father and Son 9. The Frog and the Peach 10. The Psychiatrist 11. Bo Dudley 1. Language: English. Narrator: Peter Cook, Dudley Moore. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/rbet/000002/bk_rbet_000002_sample.mp3.
